Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.
The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Time to make our way to Faraday City in the Oischin region to see if there's anything that can be done to help Daniel recall some of his mysteriously missing memories.
The entrance to Oischin Forest lies due south of your castle. If you ducked into the entrance previously, you can take Deke's teleporter over there as well.
Oischin Forest is a linear path with a couple of detours for loot. Enemies aren't too nasty expect maybe for Basilisks who hit hard and have lots of hp. Pretty easy stroll through overall.
The first detour comes when you see a fork in the road going either west or south. Heading south leads to a few useful consumables in a Lightning Rod, Charged Jet, and Green Herb. Going west leads to the first cutscene where there's some mysterious ice in the region and, quite frankly, Yan Angwa is not amused and has better things to do then ponder random ice pockets.
After the cutscene ends, there's a detour just to your east. Here, there's someone blocking the way to some sacred druid grounds, but more important is the chest with a very valuable new spell, Restore. This is the only way in the game to revive characters in battle so consider yourself lucky anytime a copy shows up.
Nothing else of note until you run across the second set of ice patches with a monster trying to make its best impression of Sonic's spinball of speed mechanic. We're going to have to show him that even with that, he's just too slow.
This Sonic wannabe is known as Frostmonger and can be an annoying jerk due to his main gimmick revolving around one of his skills, Freezing Touch. This is a melee attack that doesn't do much damage, but inflicts the freeze status on the target. You'd expect freeze to paralyze or even slow down the afflicted character, but that doesn't happen. In fact, no stat changes happen with the ailment.
So what's the catch? If that frozen character gets hit by ANY physical attack, he or she will be KO'd instantly regardless of how much damage is dealt. You can't even hope the character won't be targeted after being hit with the status since Frostmonger's Icebreaker skill explicitly targets anyone with the ailment.
There is a way to deal with the ailment though and that's to switch the afflicted party member to the back row or behind an unfrozen target until the ailment wears off. This isn't a foolproof plan though because if Frostmonger gets real spammy with Freezing Touch, you may not have any choice but to either sacrifice someone to getting deleted by Icebreaker or put a mage on the frontline to similarly get sacrificed.
Alternatively, your name is Yan Angwa and your high hp for a mage lets you tank a physical in the frontlines just fine at full health. That too.
Frostmonger has a Brigandine to steal. 11 pdf for 6 weight. Not too bad. He drops a Frost Shard upon defeat as well.
After the fight, there's a quick discussion about the beast. Yan Angwa quickly points out that the beast was artificial, suggesting that it was summoned by someone, but for what purpose is unclear. No choice but to table the thoughts cause we're very close to Faraday City.
Before we walk on over (after a cutscene with local jerkface governor Vosch and slightly less of a jerkface governor Miller), there's a quick cut back to the castle. If you speak to Bartolli after Frostmonger's defeat, he mentions how difficult it is to procure herbs and other such stuff around the castle area. He'd really be happy to get them fresh from the fields. We can do that in the Oischin region, but not right away since there's some important story cutscenes to get out of the way first.
More next time!
