I don’t like it when you come into my office and tell me, *"I need an upper blepharoplasty,"* because there are so many variables when it comes to the eyes. Every eye is different, every situation is different; the eyes are a fundamental part of our face.
As you can see, some eyes have extra skin above the eye—excess eyelid skin. Others, however, show drooping eyebrows. In both men and women, this aspect is addressed differently.
Therefore, the treatment can sometimes be a simple blepharoplasty, but very often it is necessary to reposition the eyebrow to open up the gaze. This can be done, for example, with endoscopic lifting, as in the case I showed you. In some men, we need to perform blepharoplasty, but we also have to lift the eyebrow because they exhibit drooping; often, in men, since they have a prominent eyebrow and less hair, a direct eyebrow lift is chosen.
You see, there are so many variables—it’s not just about blepharoplasty. In my practice, I perform upper blepharoplasty very, very rarely; almost always it involves repositioning the eyebrow, because that’s what truly provides an aesthetic improvement. Otherwise, if we continue removing tissue, we risk burying the eye and making it look aged.
