Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren front wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2015 to 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and your Silverado 3500 with the dual or single rear wheel setup. Now on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Just pop in the year, make and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you.
And our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now upgrading your suspension on your truck will improve your ride quality. It's going to help reduce that sag when you're hauling. It's going to make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling, but it doesn't reduce the extra workload that's placed on your factory brakes. So if you've ever felt like your truck is taking longer to stop with the trailer or with a heavy load, or maybe your brakes are wearing out faster than you expected them to, or that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this kit is going to come into place.
This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads. Now it includes these low metallic Onyx bite brake pads that are going to provide a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. So you're going to notice more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip. And these multilayered rubber shims are going to help keep the brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance. On your screen, I have a few pictures there for you.
The first picture is one of those shims, just a picture of an example of one showing you the build quality and what's involved with that construction. And then the second picture is just a better detail of the brake pads themselves. So those positive molded pads paired with these precision balance rotors are going to promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal feel. Speaking of the rotors, these are OEM style dented rotors as you can see here. So that's going to help dissipate heat during repeated stops.
It's going to help reduce brake fade when towing. And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors and they feature Timbren's Onyx Bond matte black coating on the hat, veins and outer edges. As you know, heat is the enemy of brakes, but this Onyx Bond coating has a heat threshold up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than the standard Geomet coating most commonly used on OEM parts. This coating also helps protect them from rust caused by road spray, moisture and winter driving. It's going to keep your brakes looking cleaner between surfaces without affecting braking performance. The pads also feature a bed end coating indicated by the blue lines here on the pads. This transfers to the rotor to protect it during the first stops. So you're going to be able to enjoy consistent braking performance sooner after installation. Installation's going to be pretty straightforward. It includes everything that you see here along with some lubricant.
