Hi, I'm Daniel with etrailer, and today we're going to take a look at, I'm going to show you install the SeaSucker Monkey Bar roof rack on our 2025 Toyota Camry. Getting a roof rack on your Camry is going to allow you to put accessories up here. So if you're on those long trips, there's not a whole lot of trunk space for all your luggage, so you can get some cargo boxes up here, you can get kayak carriers, you can put skis up here, really sky's the limit. There's a ton of accessories. These are going to be the universal style roof racks because they are suction cupped to your roof, and these are designed to go on your glass roofs or your metal roofs. These are actually on our sunroof, which is perfectly fine.
And you may be kind of skeptical on if these suction cups are strong, but these actually rated at a vertical pull force of 1,260 pounds, which is quite a lot. So I'll do a little shake test here just a little to show you that these are not going anywhere once you have these fully suctioned to your roof. So this roof rack's going to be for those people who want to take this on and off their vehicle a ton, because it's really easy to set up. Or if maybe you lease a vehicle, you can buy this and transfer it between vehicles. You don't have to get a custom fit kit.
Now, if you are wanting something a little bit more permanent, ones that actually clamp to your vehicle there's tons of options on our website. Just put your year, make, model in our fit guide just to make sure you get the proper fit kit for your vehicle. Now I'll get you a couple measurements. Now they may be slightly different depending on where you place them because you can place them anywhere on your roof. You just want to make sure they're nice and level.
So from our clamp here, it sticks out about six inches and on the back it's going to stick out about seven for us. So that's nice if you have clamp-on accessories like some kayak carriers, you can clamp those on the ends. So it's a lot easier to take that on and off. Now for our next measurement, I want to give you the clearance for our front bar. We're going to have about 3-1/2 underneath.
And then to the top, that's going to be about 5-1/2. So that'll help you determine if you can pull in and out of your garage. You just want to take that 5-1/2 and add that to a cargo box. That'll be your total height of your vehicle. Something I will mention, if you've kept these on for a long time, before you hit the road, you want to make sure these plungers are fully in, so you don't want to see any of that orange ring around them. Now, as far as weight capacities go for these, you're going to have a total of 150 pounds going down for them. So that's quite a bit. Most roofs are 165, so that's no problem there. Now I'll show you how to take these off. It's really simple. You just want to come over to the suction cup, and there's going to be two raised spots. You just want to push up. And that's that easy. I already did the other side and now we can just take this off. And this will actually unscrew. So you can unscrew this. It breaks down really small. You can store this in your trunk if you need to. As far as getting these installed, it's super simple, so follow along and we'll show you how to put them on. Starting off, I already got our front bar in place. Now I'll show you how to get the rear. So first we're going to take our bar clamps. We're going to get these installed on each of our suction cups. And the bolt is going to go through the opening that has the circular hole. Get that put through. And I'll get our Nyloc nut on the side that has the angles to it. Get that started. Now I can push that in and that'll hold the nut for us so we can tighten up our bolt. I got the clamp on our other suction cup. You just want to make sure that they're both orientated the same way. Now we can take our bar. We'll get this screwed into the other half. Just like that. I'm going to take the pads off both of our suction cups. Now take this over to the vehicle and get these put on. And before we get these stuck on, I'm going to use some rubbing alcohol and r
