Edit: 20th August:
Having your stronger glyph on your front bar is better, if you're able to get relatively equal enchant procs on both bars. Your enchant remembers your crit values based on the bars cast. For this reason, I will use Flame Front and Shock Back glyphs for pure ST situations.
- Summary -
This video showcases the potential Magicka Nightblade setups that I will use in trials in the Wolfhunter patch.
For those wanting to learn (new to trials, new to Magicka Nightblade etc), hopefully, a lot of this stuff might be useful for you. For the experienced player, it would be nice to compare thoughts.
For the information about the rotation itself, please see the 'Rotation Info' section of my Summerset Magicka Nightblade video here: (youtube.com/watch?v=Bnh5X5TNFiM). It's basically the same and I have nothing new to add in this regard. If you're here to learn about the rotation, I would recommend it.
The main reason why I make these videos is for the long-ass descriptions. Primary focus here is on gear and weapon enchants, since they are the biggest change from Summerset.
Thanks @stileanima for the lack of orbs, low drain and aether uptimes
- Gear Comparison -
From the video:
It is apparent that Master Architect combined with Mother's Sorrow is a strong set up for providing Major Slayer as group support. For this reason, Siroria and Master Architect are compared. For the most part, the sets give very similar DPS results on solo, within 1-2k. Siroria wins out when considering a perfectly static situation. However, the less consistently you can keep the stacks, the smaller the difference between Siroria and Master Architect.
First rotation (Master Architect Sorrow Zaan - Infused Shock Enchant on frontbar and Infused Flame Enchant on backbar - 56.3k - https://i.imgur.com/PFhC4G5.png)
Second rotation (Siroria Sorrow Zaan - Infused Shock Enchant on frontbar and Infused Flame Enchant on backbar - 58.3k - https://i.imgur.com/IFK0Obq.png)
Gear and CP - https://i.imgur.com/XtMhTzD.png , https://i.imgur.com/MdFcICB.png
(55k+ on a 6mil is achievable without an external source of Minor Vulnerability if comparisons are desired).
Alternatives to Mother's Sorrow: Burning Spellweave and Scathing Mage, even Julianos have proved to be adequate alternatives in many different scenarios. You can barely tell the difference.
- Enchant Testing -
In order to make the tests consistent, Minor Vulnerability was applied with 100% uptime. This is to negate any inconsistency in sources of Minor Vuln. sourced from the Shock Enchant and/or Elemental Weapon. Mother's Sorrow was also used on the frontbar, since it is a stable bonus, instead of proc chance such as Burning Spellweave and Scathing Mage. The third control variable is the use of a Flame Enchant on the backbar staff.
In the tests, it was decided to compare Infused Shock Enchant, Infused Berserker Enchant and Precise Berserker Enchant (Credit to @Web_Silliams for suggesting this).
For pure Single Target, with no external buffs (except the Minor Vulnerability), it seemed the Infused Shock Enchant was slightly better than the other two, which were pretty similar. However, in many trial fights, this shall not be the case. With raid buffs, it remains to be seen how well each of these options scale. (If a definitive answer is found, then I will update it here).

Below is a list of trial fights and enchant combinations that I'd probably use. General thoughts: Infused Fire/Shock for reasonably pure single target, Infused/Precise Berserker front for important Multi-target fights, Infused Berserker back for when adds in front of the boss that might steal a backbar flame enchant, and Infused Prismatic front for those Prismatic bosses. Ra Kotu - Infused Prismatic / Infused Flame
Yokeda Rok'dun - Infused Flame / Infused Berserker
Yokeda Kai - Just cheese it
The Warrior - Infused Flame / Infused Shock
vAA:
Lightning Storm and Foundation Stone Atronach - Infused Prismatic / Infused Flame
Varlariel - Infused Flame / Infused Shock

Veteran Cloudrest +3 (Hard Mode)
Score - 134,137
Total Time - 6:23
Vitality - 36/36
Character - Likowo, Stamina Necromancer
Date - 11th August 2019
We wanted to see how effective an 8 Stamina (Necromancer) Character group composition was, seeing as a World Record level run has never been achieved before with all Stamina DDs. I thought there would be promise, but actually, it brings just as many problems as solutions. In the end, most DDs just went with Iceheart and Brawler, to give us a better chance to complete. So it wasnt really worth it.
My role in this fight:
- To try and do damage
- Go down and check-up on the Portal Team every so often
- Chain in adds so the tank can control the Mini-bosses better
- Spam vigor in execute
- Dont die before Zmaja.
From now, I am taking an indefinite break from 12-man Trials Raiding in ESO. Thanks to everyone in Hodor for putting up with me for the last 18 months. Edit: I will still be around in the community, making videos like how I have done until now, minus the Raid ones :).
Also, Hodor will NOT be raiding anymore at this moment in time. Thanks for watching the Hodor trial runs until now.

![ESO - Stamina Necromancer 2H/Bow PVE Build (98k+) - Scalebreaker
Here we have a Stamina Necromancer Two-Hander/Bow PVE build and Iron Atronach Parse for Scalebreaker.
Other setups
DW/Bow: https://youtu.be/o3lK3TgAD-k
vMA Daggers/Bow: https://youtu.be/JXrSpAHqLHU
There have been loads of changes across the board for combat in ESO. I would recommend you to read the relevant patch notes.
I am using the Max Stam/Stam Regen food, with 64 points into Stamina for all Stamina Setups in these rotations. This is simply for comparison purposes in this test environment.
So, the Stamina Necromancer is the go-to class as a DD in Trials in ESO. There is no doubt this is mainly because of their Ultimate, the Pestilent Colossus, which gives an AOE Major Vulnerability debuff for 5 seconds.
Here I will not describe any rotation which relies on Detonating Siphon. Bitterly disappointing that it still doesnt work, since it is amazing for sustain (costs no resources) and does decent AOE and Single Target damage too.
The Stamina Necromancer 2H setups have seen plenty of popularity. The naturally lower crit chance of 2H setups are fairly well countered by its Critical Chance passive boost in execute. This combined with the amazing splash damage offered when Reverse Slice comes into effect means in this video I have decided to select Reverse Slice as the execute morph, rather than Executioner, despite Executioners buff. The Two-Hander setups are generally used for their cleave rather than their single target DPS anyway, so if thats what youre looking for Id recommend any of the Dual Wield/Bow setups that Ive previously showcased.
If you wanted to try out a rotation yourself maximizing ST with Detonating Siphon and Executioner, youd probably be looking at 104k+ here, which would be its real potential in comparison, rather than what I show here.
There are plenty of different bar setups that are viable. For example, you can use Carve as your spammable (better to space it out rather than to cast it consecutively, to get a tick of the bleed), and drop Venom Skull altogether, leaving you a free bar slot on your front bar. Here you could slot Archer, Trap, Boneyard, Trapping Webs or Detonating Siphon for the passives. Wrecking Blow is also pretty good actually. If youre thinking to choose between any 2 combinations which might be pretty close, chances are that they are and youll be fine with your choice.

Rotation
This, like other Stamina rotations, will be 10-seconds long because Arrow Barrage, Poison Injection, Carve and Consuming Trap are all 10 seconds long.
The minimum backbar rotation is simply: Arrow Barrage - Poison Injection. Barbed Trap and Skeletal Archer are to be cast on cooldown, or roughly every other rotation if you want to keep it simple.
On your front bar, make sure to cast Carve and Soul Trap once. In the rest of the time, cast Venom Skull and Blastbones. Generally, you can cast Blastbones 1-in-3 skills (if youre lucky), so you can expect to cast it 3 times per rotation. Of course, you will need to space them out, so often it will be 2x 1-in-3 and a 1-in-4 to generalize.
As you head towards execute, at around 30%, you can start casting Reverse Slice as your main spammable. If you are using 3x Bloodthirsty, then below 25% you can simply drop Blastbones altogether. Keep up all DOTs if you anticipate getting a near full duration out of them, then otherwise cast Reverse Slice as much as you can. If there are other targets nearby that require to be splashed down, then you can more or less drop Blastbones completely at 35% and simply rely on Reverse Slice.
For Maarselok, you will need to Bash once every 7 or more seconds to proc its effect.
Proposed Static Rotation:
Start: Archer - Trap - Blastbones
Barrage - Injection - (Archer / Barbed Trap - alternate them after the first rotation)
Blastbones - Carve - Consuming Trap - Blastbones - Spam - Spam - Blastbones
Spam = Venom Skull above 35% and Reverse Slice below 35%. Below 25%, also replace Blastbones with Reverse Slice.
Thanks for checking out this Stamina Necromancer 2H setup. Let me know if you need anything related to the setups!

This is probably the first time where I didnt get stunned here haha.
I am using 3x Arcane Jewelry because it is better for killing the little bombers, and also sometimes I barely get to execute since killing them at the end can be important, as you can see in this clip. 3x Arcane is also better for destro ulti bursts at the start and at various phases of the fight.
For some reason, my bar swapping on this fight, in particular, is really laggy. At least the frame rates are much better frames in previous times though (compared to when I last uploaded this fight half a year ago - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsRbl3KlUWA).
