An interesting, and colorful train to see in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul area is J4s, also known as The Humboldt Avenue Transfer. You really never know what it'll have, but it usually has old school EMD power! Lets take a look a these train smoking, roaring, and evening saving a train in the area.
Train J42 runs from CPKS's Saint Paul Yard, over to Humboldt Yard in North Mpls, and back every day of the week. Since it starts at Saint Paul, it tends to have some really cool, older EMD power on it. Lets get a look at GP38s, GP40s, SD40-2s, and more on this transfer! Starting at Hoffman Ave, we'll watch as a KCS leader guides it under the classic signal bridge. After this, witness it roaring up towards Cardigan Jct in run 8. We'll even see it rescue another train! With lots of smoke, sound, and sweet views, we'll chase this all the way to Humboldt Yard with places like New Brighton, and The Mississippi River featured!
