Encon Imperial 56" ceiling fan in polished brass. I am running off the assumption that Imperial was a name used for this model based on the info we have. This is another fan that I found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2023. I almost didn't stop for this one, until I spotted a flywheel. Unfortunately not the stack motor version, but still cool since it's spinner with a flywheel. Was a bit of a labor of love getting it going again, and I contemplated parting it out several times along the way, but forged ahead to keep it alive. Flywheel was of course on its way out. I ended up getting the wrong replacement, but made it work. Even the replacement is pretty much junk; this particular flywheel design is just one of the worst ever made, and the blades have quite a bit of sag because of it. Doesn't help that it's 56" and has that much more external force on it. I really just wanted to get it functional for now, perhaps a better solution will be a future project. One of the light fitters is hanging on by a thread. They're the pressed-in style, so I'm just leaving it alone until it entirely pops off and I'm forced to properly fix it. Glass is what I found with it, not sure if it's part of a genuine Encon kit or not. By Encon standards post-CG, it's a pretty nice fan. Decent performance, if not a bit noisy despite the flywheel. Finish has a few bad scrapes and scratches here and there, but that aside it's in generally fair condition and is a nice quality all around. Performance isn't anything particularly standout, but it's for sure good. Overall top to bottom, it's pretty much in the realm of mid-tier showroom products of the period. I'd say very much adjacent to Tacony brands like Regency, Riccar, etc.
