Fanimation Islander 52" ceiling fan in matte white, still in the original box, shown with my set of green palm blades. This one has been on the remake list for a bit, but I decided if I was going to do a new video, I'd change the blades up a bit to show a different combination. These blades haven't been specifically shown since being paired my very first Islander motor, so it seemed fitting to bring them back. I like the combo a lot, the green looks great with the white IMO. I also wanted to show the classic palm look in honor of Fanimation bringing the Islander back this year with the same classic palm shape, even though they're not natural palm anymore. Not much to add in any regard here, everything is in-original-box so it's all in like-new condition. Natural palm Islanders in particular are not great performers, they're more for looks. There certainly is a bit of a breeze, but they slow the motor down a lot and aren't very efficient air movers. These wider palms are the true classic and in that regard I do love them, but they're not my absolute favorite style because they block so much of the rest of the fan, and getting a good angle for photos and videos is quite difficult. Some of the other styles also offer slightly better function. But overall, any Islander is a reminder of the early design revolution and innovation within the ceiling fan industry. Fanimation paved the way for completely different realms of design innovation with this fan.
