Learn about the High’s new exhibition, André Kertész: Postcards from Paris, from curator Elizabeth Siegel. This exhibition is the first to bring together Kertész’s rare carte postale prints. Elizabeth Siegel has been a curator at the Art Institute of Chicago since 2001. Her work examines the practices, reception, and material histories of photography, with a focus on photography before 1970. Her current exhibition, André Kertész: Postcards from Paris, is the first dedicated to Kertész’s carte postale prints; the accompanying catalogue has been shortlisted for Photography Catalogue of the Year in the 2021 Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards.
