In high school I had issues trying to remember the shells and configurations for all the electron shells. While there are tables and obscure chem tricks to cover them, I figured I'd make a manipulative instead. This #3dprintable model covers all 118 elements.
You can 3d print this in a day. The 16 mm marbles you can source from any grocery store or discount store, but watch out for the quality. I found that the ones from the dollar stores were lumpy or had poor size control.
