April 2d is the start of Autism Acceptance Month. There are many different ways to support those on the spectrum. Last week Jefferson County Sheriffs Office announced their Blue Envelope Program.
This gives you an envelope to keep your important documents in the glovebox, as well as a non-verbal way to communicate you need extra time with the officer. The items are free (while supplies last) from the department.
I got a bumper sticker, seat belt cover and blue envelope to hold my info. Please call ahead, the station I went to was low on all the items!
