This is the Halloween level in Eldritch, it will likely be gone in a few weeks. I go over some symptomatic issues with this game and still can't fully articulate and put my finger on what's wrong. If you'd like to discuss the issues this game shows, feel free to leave a comment, we can debate it and figure it out together.

Eldritch is in the words of it's creators, "A first-person action game inspired by roguelikes, immersive sims, and H. P. Lovecraft." I think there is very little of the immersive sim aspect, but they certainly do well on the atmosphere. There's not really enough story or anything to truly feel as though you are the character. I feel nothing for him/her, they're essentially faceless. As a roguelike, this is strictly roguelite. This game is not punishing in the same way Rogue was, nor does it have a particularly high learning curve.
It's a short game. That works somewhat well for it, but ultimately I feel it falls short of what it sets itself up to be. As an action game, there is very little. The immersive sim mechanics are fluid and responsive, but allow you to swiftly deal death with neither consequence nor more action than a few button presses. While you can be defeated by poor luck, there are usually far too many supplies handed out and no consequence for either returning to previous levels to suck them all up, or for staying too long in one level.
In short, while I like it, it's not exactly well-balanced. There's good things and bad things and so many neutral things, but it's a decent 10 hours or so if you're a completionist.
