Most medical students are taught almost nothing about hormone health and prescribing of hormone treatments at medical school. Far too many doctors and clinicians are still not knowledgable about women’s hormones (progesterone, estradiol and testosterone) and how to prescribe them. This lack of education is harming millions of women globally. This urgently needs to change.

This week on my @drlouisenewsonpodcast, Dr Holly Carding, GP, Women’s Hormone Specialist and Education Lead at @newson_education, joined me to talk about why that training gap still exists across the whole profession, not just among GPs, and what we’re doing with Newson Education to change that.

We talk through why our education courses teach physiology first rather than labels such as menopause or PMDD, why a guideline should never replace clinical judgement and how all clinicians from any speciality can access the training.

If you're a healthcare professional, or you know one who needs to hear this, please share this episode with them. Listen to the full conversation now via the link in my bio.
