As far as sonic spectaculars go, it would be difficult to find a recording that tops the famous Decca recording of Edgar Varese Arcana Integrales and Ionization, conducted by Zubin Mehta with The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Recorded in 1972, by James Lock, the record is legendary among audiophiles and for good reason. In this video I focus on the composition Arcana, and discuss four different pressings of this very special record.
