S.R Light Pacific 34028 Eddystone is seen out on consecutive weekends as it now looks to cement it's form on the mainline circuit. The first tour features two brief shots of the Bulleid heading across the reinstated East to West Line aka the Varsity Line, apparently the first time steam has been across it in preservation. A week later we see Eddystone heading south from Manchester to Reading. At Kennington we see the Bulleid getting a push from the rear due to being sent out in front of an express at Oxford, disappointing but understandable. Thankfully at Radley it was steam only and the rear diesel was idling, while the Bullied speeds through in the low 70's !
A bonus shot at the end of the video features 7029 Clun Castle on it's farewell run before being withdrawn for overhaul. This should of been a memorable scene for all the right reasons, but turned out to be disaster. 7029 was losing time on the slow lines out of London on the Great Western Mainline and for some bizarre reason it was sent out onto the fast line 10 minutes before arriving meaning a mad rush over to the fast platforms at Cholsey. The decision to send it over to the fast was strange because control sent it out infront of a 125mph express ! So you knew what would happen, oh and a last minute downpour topped it off nicely.
