Are you more of a hobby stitcher? Straight line sewing and the occasional clothing repair to make your wardrobe more sustainable? Does the thought of Machine Embroidery make you wince? Wince no more, for we have the perfect introductory project for you to make this Christmas.
Constructed from strips of leftover cotton fabric, layered onto a scrap of quilt wadding or felt, and then beautifully embellished with a variety of decorative embroidery stitches in a coordinating thread using Janome’s 5270QDC sewing machine, this cute Christmas Stocking will look fantastic hung from the mantlepiece. Why not make multiple stockings into a pretty Christmas garland, or fill with sweet treats for charity sales?
Corinne shows you how simple it is to select and sew one of many different decorative designs at the touch of a few buttons. Then it’s simply - foot down, press the pedal, and enjoy the way the 5270QDC creates a work of art. Start by sewing yourself a stitching sampler to quickly decide what designs you want to use on your own embroidered Christmas Stocking. Before you know it, you’ll be adding decorative borders to your hems and cuffs, reusable kitchen towels, dog bandanas, baby clothes... the list goes on!
