Part 33 - Beginning of Deep Darkness to Master Barf

If Poo was carrying the Hawk Eye, call Escargo Express to retrieve it. If you haven't called Escargo Express before, call Ness's mom.

The arms dealer in Deep Darkness is the most convenient person to buy Multi Bottle Rockets from. Teleport here whenever you need some.

There are 5 Magic Truffles (recovers about 80 PP; 160 PP with a Ketchup Packet) hidden throughout Deep Darkness. This segment and the next will show where they are.

The party takes 2 HP of damage about every 5 seconds while walking through the deepest parts of the swamp. You can avoid damage and save some time by traveling through these deep parts with Teleport α, but take care to avoid accidentally letting the teleport complete.

Outline:

0:46 - Magic Truffle 1
0:57 - Magic Truffle 2
1:04 - Receive the Monkey's Love, which can solidify a single random target in battle. Give to Poo when he returns.
1:52 - Use the Hawk Eye to make the swamp visible.
2:58 - Magic Truffle 3
7:08 - Magic Truffle 4
9:20 - Defeat Master Barf

Notes:

1:59 - The snorkel is Deep Darkness's ATM. He will charge a usage fee equal to the amount you withdraw.

2:07 - Zap Eel: only uses electrical shock attack.

3:18 - Big Pile of Puke: use Freeze β or γ if everyone starts crying.

3:49 - Photo Spot: by the Myna Bird.

6:41 - Demonic Petunia: be near max HP before engaging. Use Fire γ when facing a group or if Ness and Paula miss their standard attacks.

8:06 - Manly Fish's Brother: can use Freeze and cause paralysis. Manly Fish: easy enemy.

8:51 - Horn of Life: equivalent to Cup of Lifenoodles. The Manly Fish's Brother has only a 1/128 chance of dropping this item!

9:09 - Rock Candy: use with a Sugar Packet or a Jar of Delisauce to increase a random stat by 2. There is a glitch that lets you use this item an unlimited number of times. See - walkthrough.starmen.net/earthbound/pinkcloud.php

9:36 - Use a Multi Bottle Rocket to defeat Master Barf in 1 round.

9:55 - Master Barf can summon an Even Slimier Little Pile, an easy enemy.

10:32 - The Casey Bat has an accuracy of only 25% but grants the highest Offense increase of Ness's weapons.

My rules for this walkthrough:

1. I don't use Big/Multi Bottle Rockets because I think they make the game too easy. My hope is that not using Bottle Rockets will give you a better sense of what each boss is like and make these videos more interesting.

2. I don't do any level grinding. I'll point out when I think I'm under-leveled in the videos.
