Children who participate in early childhood development programs are more likely to become productive adults and educate their own children. The impact of ECD is greatest in low-resource communities, where research shows ECD can narrow social and economic gaps. In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), only 4 percent of children have access to ECD programs. Interactive audio instruction was used there to deliver low-cost, high-quality ECD.
