Dong Zhuo wants to recreate Hulao Gate, blaming the battles failure on Lu Bu, who doesn't take kindly to having that said right in front of his face. Got to give credit to the Dong's lack of fear, even before his Origins incarnation.
So our final battle is a bit of a doozy. Taking the first couple of bases isn't a problem, but once we reach the 3 brothers at Hulao Gate in the center, all those bases get recaptured and enemy officers advance on the main camp, and will likely trample Diaochan in the process. Lu Bu yells when Diaochan is defeated, so it makes me imagine him sitting at the council table and just shouting it when her piece gets knocked over.
Anyways the hardest part of this is fighting the 3 Brothers. They can take out your team members quickly even if they're fighting right there beside you because they're very strong and once enemy officers are damaged, they get this semi-transparent effect on them that makes them no longer flinch and take way less damage from non-charged Charge attacks or Musous, making them easily capable of overpowering you. This has been present throughout the whole game, and always felt a bit unfair, but this is the only time it was a major problem when there was three of them and they kept killing my whole team.
Eventually after a few retries I was able to kill them quickly before they caused too much damage by building up musous for when I went to fight them and using Musou Rush when they hit their invisible phase. Something to note about Musou Rush is that it doesn't actually stop time when you do it, the battle still carries on for other units on the map. So I had times where I started a Musou Rush and then came back to the battle to see my other two teammates dead lol. I'm sure it's like this because they couldn't have the game just freeze when someone did a Musou Rush in VS Mode.
The stage gets easier after the brothers are dealt with. Then, Sun Jian, Xiahou Dun, and Xiahou Yuan will advance on you to fight you together, but they seem to be easier to deal with. After that Yuan Shao will send out his precious siege weapons to try and stop you, but they aren't much of a threat. Then you just need to push through to beat him for the win.
After the battle, Dong Zhuo wants to celebrate--with Wang Yuanji specifically--so she just walks out of the room. Lu Xun says he pretty much ruined the council and needs to be thrown out. Zhuge Liang then says it's a good time to end anyways, and that the unexpected guests made for a lively ending. He calls the council a success and hopes to host another gathering like this again some day.
But this game never gets a follow up so that doesn't happen!
