Duskfade on Nintendo Switch 2 gets a full frame rate, resolution and perceived sharpness test across six areas, using a custom frame rate and resolution analysis tool.
Tested on Nintendo Switch 2. Frame rate and frame time CSV data for each area is available.
Duskfade runs with an unlocked frame rate on Switch 2, and the results vary considerably depending on where you are. The Guayota boss fight is the standout, holding a near locked 60fps with a 1% low of 58. Ezarus Forest also performs well, averaging around 57fps. From there it drops off, with Tick Town and Starstone Mines sitting in the low to mid 40s, Scorched Grove averaging around 51fps but dipping into the low 30s in its heavier moments, and Mount Cinder being the weakest area by some margin, averaging just 35fps and dropping as low as 28. It is a genuinely mixed performance that feels smooth in enclosed encounters but noticeably rougher in the busier open areas.
The tool measures real framerate by detecting duplicate frames to calculate true FPS separately from the container rate, alongside per frame frametime data and 1% lows that reveal stuttering average figures hide. The resolution side tracks the native render resolution and a rolling Detail line measuring perceptual sharpness frame by frame across each area.
