A quick correction on Final Fantasy XIV early access on Nintendo Switch 2. I previously thought it was starting in July, but it is confirmed for August 2026.

Early access runs for approximately one month before official service begins, and no Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to play FFXIV on Switch 2 during early access or after launch. Existing FFXIV players will need to buy the Switch 2 version separately along with its own subscription, though those with remaining game time on other platforms get the Switch 2 subscription at half price.
