In this AU Duchess and Kodi used to be in love, but then Kodi moved away. He didn't know how to tell his family and friends about Duchess, it all seemed so unfitting and Kodi thought this relationship wouldn't be accepted, he was afraid of everyone's disapproval or contempt.
So Kodi left Duchess and pretended nothing happened.
But Duchess loves Kodi, she misses him terribly and can't help but coming near Kodi's place once a while. And one night she comes too close while Kodi is talking to his new girlfriend. They are shocked to see Duchess, Duchess tells Kodi "we never talk anymore" and Kodi feels bitter, realizing he left Duchess in such a bad way and that he may still love her.
