🚨 A California-plated Infiniti traveled more than 2,000 miles before its journey came to a violent end in rural Illinois.
After allegedly fleeing an earlier police stop, the vehicle was tracked across the state by Flock license plate readers until deputies finally moved in.
What followed was a 100+ MPH pursuit, a rollover in a cornfield, a desperate attempt to escape on foot, and a vehicle that burst into flames after the chase was over.
But the fire wasn't the biggest surprise.
According to investigators, deputies discovered more than 3 kilograms of suspected fentanyl inside the Infiniti after the chase ended. Authorities ultimately arrested driver Christian Anahel Erazo-Velasquez and passenger Roybin Josue Barahona, who investigators later determined had provided false identities during the encounter.
The arrests led to allegations of Controlled Substances Trafficking, Possession With Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Obstructing Justice.
