Our knitted sample has a knitting tension of about 18 stitches = 10 cm using 4.5 mm needles, which is a perfect fit for patterns in knitting tension group 19 - 18 stitches.
Remember however that knitting/crochet tension varies from person to person and that the suggested needle/hook size is only a guide. You can adjust the size to get a different tension - or match the tension recommended in the pattern you are working with. Just make a swatch!
