In this DROPS video we show you how to work an edge-stitch, where the edge-stitch is slipped with the strand in front at the beginning of the row and knitted with an extra stitch at the end of the row. This gives a stable edge with double stocking stitch. The piece is worked in garter stitch (knitting each row).

BEFORE STARTING THE VIDEO:
We begin with the first stitch.

THE VIDEO SHOWS:
BEGINNING OF ROW:
Slip 1 stitch purl-wise from the left needle to the right needle with the strand in front, without twisting the stitch. Knit to the end of the row and work the last stitch as follows: Using the right needle, pick up the outermost stitch-loop of the last stitch on the previous row and place it on the left needle (= new stitch), knit the last stitch and this stitch-loop together.
