This hack made by Commander52Colton brings in stuff from the Pre-release version made in October 1 of 2000 to the NTSC Version 1.1 of the game. Despite the pre-release being two weeks prior the final PAL version, it contains several differences from the finalized version. The only issue from the hack is the chase missions, as the paths are broken and the car doesn't reach the destination. Thankfully, those missions can still be completed. In the pre-release the chases works just fine. We be taking a look and spotting all the differences. The hack's download link is down the description.
Surveillance Tip off: Likely a glitch, Tanner spins around during the cutscene. The cutscene has different camera angles to the final version. Also the gameplay begins before Jones finish the phone call.
Chase the Witness: Unlike the hack, in pre-release the escaping car doesn't sound the worn during the chase.
Train Pursuit: Right at the first corner, there's a accident and a police blockage. In the hack the bus and crashed car won't appear without using a GameShark code. The code will be down the description.
Tailing the Drop: Different camera angles at the beginning and ending mission scenes. Also the mission ends at little further into the warehouse.
Escape to the Safehouse: The cops that appear in the mission intro cutscene remains inside the warehouse, instead of chasing us in the final version. Also there's no time limit to get to Tanner's apartment.
Chase the Intruder: Same said above about Chase the Witness mission. Also Tanner's grey car and the yellow van you can choose to chase Jericho have their engines already running.
Caine's Compound: No intro scene of Tanner running to the warehouse door. Also the trucks block only the main road, and they are real vehicles instead of props.
Jones Rendezvous: One of three cut missions from pre-release. Here we have to reach Jones place, where the next mission begins. In the hack the mission's name doesn't load properly, instead referring to the previous mission. Aside from that, is the same as the pre-release. In order to play it on the hack, you need enable a GameShark code and start new game. The code is down the description, along with the link for the video I made of the mission in direct from the pre-release.
Leaving Chicago: The background weather is different from final version, being a slightly brighter sky with rain. Only one of Vasquez's man chases per time. And finally, the mission ends near of the train station instead of the other side of the street. With that, there's no cutscene of Tanner and Jones running to the station.
