Did Jesus say not to judge other people?

How often has someone told you that? Today we're going to evaluate another popular meme. This time it's a good one, because it reveals a serious problem: we like to take a couple of words in the Bible out of context. Then we can make them mean whatever we want them to mean.

When Jesus said, "Judge not," He immediately explained how to judge. He wasn't saying not to judge, but how to judge. Every time we notice a sin (or even a good deed), we are judging. We can't get away from it.

We are to notice people's sin, then help restore them. That's what Jesus meant when He said, "Judge not."
