Rabble is a bit different for me in terms of content. It almost feels like a protest song from the 60's or something. I struggled with the long chorus and some other aspects. For example the tempo was a huge issue for me. Going to slow and the passion seemed to be sucked out of it and going a bit too fast lessened any impact of the lyrical content . Speaking of the lyrics, I struggled with them very much. The use of the word lynching is for me tough. The word conjures up such horrible acts of bigotry. My use of the word was really tied to the word rabble and the idea of a lynch mob mentality, not actual lynching but again I don't know if that matters. "Sieg Heil" from the Nazis and world war 2 came to mind as a result of the outstretched arm salute that white supremacists use to this day another reminder of how history repeats which is a theme of the bridge. I, once again, thank you for checking out my work.
This is part of my Bucketlist Project which involves putting out a couple of albums (and EP and full length). These demos I am posting may not become fully produced songs. It is too early to tell but it will help me feel comfortable performing and such.
Video notes: I used what I have to shoot and record this. I am a believer of using what you have at the time. The front camera is a Sony 5100, "guitar cam" a Lumix FZ100 and the more full shot an LG5 phone. Not all that please with the look using different grades of video but again, use what you got. The vocal mic is the Zoom H2N which I recently purchased. I am really happy with it. The intent here was to isolate the vocals as much as possible and let the video cameras do the heavy lifting recording the guitar. It worked out ok but I think moving it back and recording the entire thing would of been better because it records audio so well as opposed to the cameras.
