School is back in session, and Officer Kristy Monroe is teaching some lessons on school zone safety!
Winter break is over for Duval County students, which means the return of school zones for Duval County drivers.
SCHOOL ZONE RULES
-Slow down to 15 miles per hour. That speed limit kicks in the moment your tires cross into the zone, so make sure you slow down before crossing in.
-Put down the phone. If you’re spotted with a device in your hand, even if you aren’t using it, expect a ticket.
-Stop for school buses. You must come to a complete stop when the bus is flashing its lights and extending its arm. That rule applies outside of school zones as well 😉
