The Thanksgiving break is over, which means students are heading back to the classroom for the last few weeks of school for 2025. And with students returning to the classroom, that means the return of enforcing school zones.
Our Traffic Enforcement Unit will be out, making sure students can make it to and from their classrooms safely and drivers are following the school zone traffic rules.
Ride along with Officer Tanner May as he patrols some of the Duval County school zones. He stops lots of speeders and passes out some expensive reminders about schools zone safety.
🚦Here’s how you can avoid the ticket:
✅ Follow posted school zone speed limits. No exceptions.
📵 Stay off your phone while driving in a school zone. It’s the law.
🚨Reach the school zone speed limit before crossing into the zone. Slowing down once you’re in the school zone could still result in a ticket.
Breaking these laws can result in some hefty tickets. Slow down, and spend that money on holiday shopping instead.
