We aren’t just about enforcing the law, we’re about prevention.
Every week, our detectives and community partners go door to door, delivering custom intervention notifications to young people at risk of gang and group violence. Led by Pastor Garland Scott, a former gang member, the message is simple: there is another way, and help is available right now.
This effort started 10 years ago when Sheriff T.K. Waters was an assistant chief. We’ve completed more than a thousand notifications. Not everyone says yes, but many do. And those choices change lives.
