On Friday, July 17, 2026, our officers once again partnered with the Florida Highway Patrol to crack down on an illegal car meetup scheduled in Riverside.
In just one night, we made eight arrests, including two drivers who were driving under the influence. We impounded five motorcycles and three cars. We issued 42 traffic citations.
We will never interfere with car enthusiasts who come together for safe and legal fun. But when those meetups turn to dangerous stunt driving, trust our officers will step in and put a stop to it.
Why do we do it? We want everyone on our streets to make it home safe. We’ve already had 105 traffic fatalities in Jacksonville this year.
