This was my set at Dissolve, an Acid party in Sheffield. Since the theme was acid, I played a lot more TD-3-MO sequences than I normally tend to, and that actually eventually led me to quite hard territory.
This is the first time I’ve used the moniker “Chianti Flip”. I haven’t decided yet whether I’ll be using it for acid sets or in general. I’ve always been terrible coming up with names.
The TD-3-MO was run through an amp simulator and kept quite wet.
The Spice was used both for melodic leads and to feed the Oneiroi with something to smear into harmonious drone pads.
I’m quite happy with the way it turned out, loads of good sequences emerged, and a lot of different moods were hit.
Tempo varied from 137 to 150BPM.
Signal path:
The Edge, Grind, Spice, and TD-3-MO are processed and mixed in the Xr-12, sent out of the aux output and through the Syntakt’s input.
The Syntakt is fed back to the Xr-12, compressed, EQed, and sent to the main bus.
The Oneiroi is sidechained to the Syntakt on the Xr-12 and send to the main bus.
The main bus is fed through a limiter, which on this set a set quite aggressively and I kept clipping the mixer at quite low average levels during soundcheck.
