The movie takes place in Toronto, Canada, within a probably fully bilingual Cantonese-English family. The song plays originally in #Cantonese
I do wonder though why Meilin would ask “what are they saying?”, considering it’s not in an old variety of Cantonese, but the same used for the movie she and her mother watch earlier. So I also wonder how that line was translated in the Cantonese dubbing

(The fact that the name of the kingdom is in Spanish probably depends on the fact it was founded by two monarchs who fled a Spanish-speaking area, as they’re the only ones heard using Spanish)
