A magnificent visit to the medieval city of York in the North of England with a historical walking tour of the city. We walk York's famous Shambles, a perfectly preserved medieval shopping street made famous as the inspiration for Harry Potter's Diagon Alley. Then we see inside the incredible York Minster as it prepares to celebrate the 800th Anniversary of Saint William of York. A stroll around the city walls is followed by explorations of the snickleways and the old streets of York. Then we climb the mound of Clifford's Tower and visit the grave of Dick Turpin. I stayed the night in the Golden Fleece York, the most haunted pub in England.
