Iain Sinclair talks about the movement in time It goes back to Whitechapel Gallery in 1974 when three young naive overreaching poet-painters who were involved with Albion Village Press a small press which I did walked into the Whitechapel Gallery and asked to have space to put on an exhibition Because at that time the forces were all amazingly centrifugal We were bedded down in a communal house in Hackney but we were constantly breaking off to make expeditions to stone circles travelling all around the country And there was a photographic record of that of mine largely There were many drawings by Brian Catling who was essentially a sculptor at that time.
