In this video I demonstrated how some diodes are better than others for harvesting power from local radio stations, and a warning about the counterfeit diodes that have flooded the market. I also demonstrated how I've been able to improve my resonant loop antenna pick up coil by using copper enamel magnet wire rather than insulated wire, and how adding or subtracting the turns of wire are on my secondary coil can make a big difference on the output. The two diodes I found to be about the best are the 1SS86 and the 1N5711 comes in second, but I suspect there are far better diodes out there I'm not aware of.
For those who are wondering how much power this produces, I measured the output to be 19 Milliamps at 2.3 volts. That's 43.7 milliwatts.
