In this video I demonstrate how sound can be transmitted from an LED by light waves and demodulated by a solar panel. What made this experiment so interesting is the power source for my LED comes from radio frequency energy picked up by a long wire antenna from a near by AM radio station.
This same experiment can be done using an infrared LED and pointing it at the solar panel. It also makes a good remote control detector.
