Sometimes it is fun to tell a story with your art journal pages - watch as Claire @artjournallove uses the new Cacti stencil from @dinawakley to create a desert sunset.šµš
Supplies:
Dina Wakley Media:
-Watercolour Journal
-Stencils: Feel Your Magic, Groovy Coaster
-White Gesso
-Stamps: Fly High
-Kraft Cardstock
-Paint: Tangelo, Lemon, Sapphire, Iris, Bodacious, Fir, Lime, Night, Black, White
-Glue
-Small Round Brush Size 16
Ranger:
-Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black
-Ink Blending Tool with Foam
Instructions:
-In the Watercolour Journal, use White Gesso to stencil some cacti onto a double-page spread and leave to dry
-Next, using a small round brush size 16 and Tangelo paint a horizontal line across the page about half way up. Add some water to the brush and pull the colour out a little to soften.
-Then using Bodacious add another line above the Tangelo and do the same.
-Repeat using Sapphire above and then Night right at the top of the page. This should start to look like a Sunset
-Using Iris add some thinner lines over the Bodacious.
-Mix a little black and night together and paint a horizon line, add small hills, these are in the distance so need to be kept small. Pull the colour down to the bottom of the page using a bit more paint and a wet brush.
-Using Fir and Lime on two diļ¬erent Blending Tools stencil some Cacti onto the page. Alter the heights by the way you position them.
-Add some white splatters to the sky
-Stamp three birds from the Fly High stamp set onto Kraft cardstock and cut out. Add them to your page using the DWM Glue.
-Use the Feel your Magic stencil to select a quote and stencil through onto a piece of printer paper using a Blending Tool with Black Archival Ink, cut it out and stick them onto your page.
