My stored tubers from my 2017 and 2016 TPS growouts have started to sprout. The storage conditions in the cellar have basically gotten too warm to prevent them from sprouting at this point. So in this video I'm culling out the damaged and over-sprouted tubers, assessing the different lines for storage ability, and then they are all going into a diffuse light storage system in a spare room. The light will induce greening in the tubers and any existing sprouts. This will cause them to form green sprouts which are short and suberized. This prevents the sprout from losing excessive amounts of water and weakening the tuber, so it is maintained in much bettter condition for planting.
