A man stops at a store in the middle of the desert, leaving his Alfa Romeo Spyder parked outside. It seems he forgot to set his parking brake, as his car begins to roll backwards towards a nearby gulch. A cute woman outside who has been eying the hunky fellow while leaning on her Saab 900 helps his car complete its journey to ruin by moving a rock that would otherwise have stopped the car.

The car wrecked, she then has a great excuse to ask the man if he needs a ride anywhere.

Note how even though the woman wrecks the car, she didn't actually start it moving. This kind of trick is often used in storytelling to make sure the characters aren't too despicable to sympathize with. See, it's not like she wrecked the car on purpose, she just kind of didn't stop it from wrecking.

Oh yeah, and there's a Diet Coke involved tangentially. This is apparently part of a Diet Coke "Live Your Life" campaign I don't recall.

This spot aired during A&E's "The Story of the Gun" part 1, Saturday February 13th, 1999
