Haven't used Locke and Serah for a while, might as well as take them for a swing in the White+Blue Crystal mission for the phoenix event.
Keep in mind that the Phoenix does have melee/range/magic weakness based on the form its in. Nevertheless, Locke's damage output was satisfactory, though not quite enough to make the 95 turn requirement for the main fight.
