The boss is naturally resistant to magic.
After a tail-spin attack, they gain a buff which grants them physical resistance while nullifying your batteries. The buff is dispelled upon break.
The gimmick of this fight is to have elemental attackers hitting weakness to bypass the weapon type resistances, the easiest way to achieve this is of course with an enchanter (Lulu, Rydia, etc.), the second option would be to have Yuri.
Yuri is able to hit the holy weakness while pretty much guaranteeing to break the boss, all the while spamming skills like no tomorrow thanks to EX giving skill refund... It is kinda surprising how good he is honestly.
