A bit of a mis-play towards the end... should've used Shadow EX on the boss that was targetting all, but still cleared.
Anyways, this should sort of illustrate my point of Shadow being in the "good but not great" category. The key characters for this fight that I used were Faris for dispel, and Beatrix for damage mitigation. shadow is just here to deal damage. While yes it is nice that I can use his evasion to bypass the break counter mechanic, that wont single handedly help me clear the fight.
It is very unlikely that you will run into a situation where you cannot complete a chaos fight because you specifically lack shadow's damage output. But there are plenty of fights where you cannot win without some sort of healing/damage mitigation.
