One of the craziest drives to Escalante yet where we just dropped in on Devil’s Garden after a 2 1/2 hours drive, took our pictures and then got right back in the car and drove that 2 1/2 hours right back!! Ugh we made it back to my parents by 5am to sleep there before heading to Goblin Valley (no it is NOT on the way but a bed was worth it! 😄)
This time around we were interested in capturing the Milky Way over Devil’s Garden in a new location or at least from a new angle. We were especially stoked to find that when we arrived a new friend named Scott had already set up his camera and lights at lesser known arch behind Metate Arch and gave us exactly what we wanted!
As for how the image turned out, it was a very very tight place to use my 24mm Robinson but I am determined to keep using that for the entirety of the Milky Way Chase so I had to pull away from the arch to see every bit of it AND get the Milky Way Core above the rocks.
It turned out pretty well but I don’t really feature the arch at all, just cool rock and its colors and textures. But the Milky Way was looking sweet again! Can’t believe how lucky we have been getting!!
