One thing is evidently clear: as we journey through life our perspectives change on how we view it & LIVE it. This could be for various reasons: a child, the passing of family/friends OR illness. Regardless, it ALWAYS seems to affect people in a direct & positive way. I've found that this is especially TRUE with artists because you can see the revision in their music & art. AND, undoubtedly, with the release of their 11th FULL-length album, Dez Farara & DevilDriver have come out in 2026 more FEROCIOUS & relevant than EVER! It's no secret (as we enter the Fall season) that Dez was diagnosed with a benign tumor in his jaw earlier in the year; and, while this is good news the ailment has still impacted his health. However, the REAL story here is that this tribulation has produced a focused Dez with many TRIUMPHS already under his belt for this cycle: 1) he has put together one of the FINEST (if not the BEST) DD line-up EVER compiled of master guitarists, experienced engineers & modern day metal song writers; 2) the band has released a FIRST-RATE record in 'Strike & Kill' (released via Napalm Records on July 10th, 2026) and 3) there is a rediscovered purpose & vision for DD; one that will take this band forward for MANY years to come, which is welcomed news to fans world-wide. SO, on August 18th, 2026, the RMW Crew took to The Aztec Theatre to meet up with the band on the 4th night of their current tour to discuss it ALL.
