The Houston metal scene is a BEAST! Gritty, unrelenting & HUGE! And, over our tenure we've had the opportunity to engage the diversity & vast expanse of the city having previously worked with bands, such as Outworld, Deadhorse, Helstar, Azrael's Bane & Six Minute Century to name a few. In fact, we completed a RMW Showcase at the Cryolab back in May 2004. It was quite successful! However, I must admit that our connection with the Houston metal scene has tapered off over the years; but I'm elated to share that as of late an evident shift in momentum is occurring with Houston bands reaching out & delivering their music to us. One such band is death metal outfit, Haserot! When their NEW FULL-length release, 'The Advent Of Suffering' (out via Redefining Darkness Records on July 10th, 2026) crossed my desk earlier this year I was both ecstatic AND satiated; ECSTATIC because TAOS, not only represents a prominent group of musicians hitting their peak, but a band that Houston (& ALL of Texas) could raise the flag to & be PROUD to tout; SATIATED because the songs on TAOS are both cathartic & savage delivering a blend of ol' school death metal with modern production (by Dan Swano), prodigious solo work & structured songs that keep you captivated with their unrelenting brutality. Just listen to some of my FAVES like: 'Poverty Of Thought', ‘Tears In Bethlehem' OR the title track. I LOVE it & quickly realized that this was a record that needed our FULL attention. SO, on July 18th, 2026, we took the opportunity to invite guitarist, Maurice Eggenschwiler & drummer, Cryptos Grimm to the RMW Studio for a deep dive on the band & TAOS. In the interview below you will see us discuss the following: the formation of the band, the development of their music, their marketing strategy, the recording of TAOS, lyrical themes, touring plans, upcoming videos & LOTS of COOL stories!
