A friend shot the amazing Orion Molecular Cloud Complex with a mirrorless camera, unfiltered, in considerable light pollution, and he was only able to get 255 minutes of integration. He asked me to see how much detail I could pull out of it using layer-based photo editing. Let's take a look and, along the way, study layering different composite methods, survey the uber-powered Levels tool, and explore the use of partial frequency separation.
Avopoc, who created the image, has given me permission to provide a link to the original file if you want to try editing it yourself. drive.google.com/file/d/1mdMNLVFcIvQAH1wzhr-AjzKQW4YTnmZY/view?usp=sharing
Avopoc has also just put up the same image with 6+ hours of integration and kindly given me permission to share it here for if you would like to try editing it. drive.google.com/file/d/1MuuxgoH3-IQLLtcLow9_w33gQnF3GHAP/view?usp=sharing
