Destiny 2 Renegades Lore and Story gives us evidence that Dredgen Bael is assembling his acolytes to search the system for something. According to lore from Dredgen Sere, the Final Boss of the Equilibrium dungeon, one of the places he's sending his acolytes to search is the moon, AKA Luna. He might be searching for Hive weapon foundries that are capable of producing weapons of sorrow including Thorn. Moreover this could be a central part of the plot of the Shadow & Order update.
