This is my second main tutorial about working with the Moondog Labs 1.33x Anamorphic Lens in conjunction with iOS devices, namely iPhones. This tutorial is mainly focused on how I shoot time-lapse and then edit that to comply with the 2.39:1 aspect ratio, a very exaggerated letter boxing aesthetic that is becoming popular in cinematic releases. This lens allows you the freedom to accomplish that look and this is just one workflow that allows you to do that in the time-lapse application.
As I was including this example in the main tutorial I had to retain the 16:9 aspect ratio, if you want to see an example of the actual 2.39:1 aspect ratio of the time-lapse featured in this tutorial please check this standalone clip out: vimeo.com/170325165
For the edit I used Photoshop to open and automate the un-squeezing of the anamorphic characteristic, how to do that is explained in the tutorial. Main editing was then carried out using LRTimelapse, Adobe Lightroom and compiled in Final Cut Pro 10.2.2. This final conversion to mpeg4 was then carried out with using Mpeg StreamClip.
